Utah Assisted Living Caregiver Orientation Program
New Staff Training Program: Utah’s Bureau of Licensing and Certification has just implemented a new rule that removes the CNA requirement for assisted living direct care personnel. This requirement has been removed in exchange for a more detailed orientation training requirement. At least one certified nurse aide must be on duty in a Type II facility 24 hours per day.
Designed for Assisted Living Type I or II providers in Utah to assist with the required 16 hours of new hire orientation. Each direct-care employee shall receive 16 hours of documented one-on-one training with a direct-care employee, with at least 3 months of experience and who has completed orientation, or the supervising nurse at the facility.
