Adult Residential Facility means any facility of any capacity that provides 24-hour-a-day nonmedical care and supervision to person 18 years of age through 59 years of age in the state of California. In order to become a certified administrator for an Adult Residential Facility you must meet the required qualifications.
Description: This course is required to enable the participant to request to take the state exam to become an Adult Residential Facility Administrator. The purpose of this 35-hour initial certification course is to familiarize the learner with start-up and operational regulations for an Adult Residential Facility (ARF). The learner will also become familiar with the psychosocial needs of the residents living in an ARF and understand their individual needs. This course will engage the learner in interactive experiences focused on the regulatory requirements specific to an ARF and how to create a positive environment for those living in an ARF.
